Jane Fenno has worked with cancer survivors as a volunteer at the American Cancer Society for 20 years and has helped to host the Relay for Life for 12 years.  The support network that she helped to build for others became her own lifeline when she was diagnosed with kidney cancer in 2007.  Jane was surprised by her diagnosis because her symptoms were few.  She was cold and tired, but otherwise feeling fine.  Doctors have removed Jane’s affected kidney along with a portion of her lung and hope that new drugs will slow the progress of the cancer.  Jane says cancer teaches you to be tough and teaches you to be brave, and that is what she plans on doing to be a survivor.
